9 - 17 May, Split Croatia

Josh Junior (NZL) has got off to a perfect start at the Finn European Championships in Split, Croatia after two race wins on the opening day. Egor Terpigorev (RUS) is in second while Arkadiy Kistanov (RUS) is third, as well as being the leading junior.

As expected the day started windless and hot, so an early postponement was hoisted as the fleet waited for the sea breeze.

Two races and two first places counts JOSH JUNIOR from New Zealand after first day of open FINN EC for juniors and seniors. The competition is sailed in Split aquatorium with YC Labud as organizing authority.

On the wings of south westerly wind 10 to 15 kn he succeed to be first in both races on race course being set between islands of Ciovo and Solta so being a leader of fleet counting 71 sailor from 30 countries.

Race committee went out on the sea waiting for fresh wind. At the moment there is a see breeze (maestral), about 4.5 kts. AP flag is up. The weather forecast is promissing, should be arround 15 kts western wind in the afternoon. We are all expecting for first race to start at arround 14:00h.

Good morning all from sunny Split, it is a first racing day of Finn European Championship 2015. Yesterday, race officer Peter Reggio held skipper's meeting and acknowledged competitors, 71 of them from 30 countries, with regatta details.
