The Club Nautico Scarlino is located in the La Marina di Scarlino, a brand new marina in the Gulf of Follonica, Maremma, Tuscany.

You may remember that Punta Ala and the Follonica Gulf, just in front of Elba Island, in the Tyrrhenian centre of Italy, were Luna Rossa's training ground, the well-known Italian boat who took part in three editions of the America's Cup.

The 1996 Soling Worlds, the 1999 Star Worlds, the European and Italian Ims Championships, the TP52 circuit and the 2005 F18 Worlds have taken place in these waters.
"One of the best sailing areas in the world", says Enrico Chieffi, the Italian helmsman (470 and Star World Champion and former Soling sailor in the 1997-2000 campaign), speaking about Scarlino as a racing venue, nestled in the heart of Maremma Toscana, one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Italy.

By car you can reach Scarlino from northern Italy with the A1 highway to Florence, then the A11 to Pisa and the SS1 Aurelia to Follonica. In Follonica follow the signs for Castiglione della Pescaia. The Marina di Scarlino is 5 km after Follonica. From Pisa is a 1h 30' drive.

For overseas competitors the closest airport is Pisa, then take a train to Follonica station (10' drive from the harbour). Pisa is well linked with London and Paris airports.
Rome Fiumicino airport is a 2h 30' drive.
